Two leaders in live event streaming deepened their integration as of last week. Verizon Digital Media Services, which managed 26,000 live events for some of the world’s largest media companies in 2016, began streaming the BUILD Series with our soon-to-be released Live Event features. The BUILD Series produces more than 75 live events per month.

The BUILD Series gets fans closer to today’s culture with an opportunity to engage live with some of the biggest names in entertainment, tech, fashion and business. In January, the Series opened a first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art BUILD Studio — a cultural and digital destination located at 692 Broadway in downtown Manhattan. At the same time, the video production team behind the live stream aspect of the BUILD Series upgraded their streaming infrastructure to enhance the overall fan-first experience.

Streaming live events comes with a number of challenges that are unique from other streaming workflows. To overcome these, the BUILD Series’ video production team needed to transform its infrastructure to a streamlined ecosystem; a one-stop shop for ingest, operation, management and delivery of the BUILD Series. The answer was Verizon Digital Media Services, not only because our platform fit their needs like a glove, but because it also enhances the BUILD Series’ ability to engage audiences.

The new Live Event features are powered by our Uplynk Video Streaming service, which has delivered over one billion hours of video content in 2016 for customers, such as Sony Crackle, ABC/Disney and Fox. Our Live Events features offer BUILD Series video production teams an array of tools including the live events scheduler and operator dashboard (manage live feeds, insert ad breaks and push slates), instant conversion to video on demand and clip creation with social sharing. Because all of these tools reside within a single cloud workflow, the BUILD Series was able do away with complexity and simplify management of live streaming.

Later this month, our new Live Events features will emerge from beta and become generally available. If you’re interested in learning more about live events, our Live Streaming solution or our Uplynk Video Streaming service, please contact us.
